When we talk about resolving to change, what we really should talk about is resolving to grow.

The difference isn’t so subtle as it seems. The pursuit of change most often connotes deficiencies – we make the resolution because we dislike something in ourselves (or we perceive we are disliked). The pursuit of growth connotes an acceptance of who we are and establishes that we could be the same, but different. A flower starts as a sprout and then a bud, but it was never not a flower. It does not resolve to be a tree.

I took way too many pictures this morning and this is the reason it sometimes takes a long time for me to post. I take lots of similar pictures and have to go through them and compare and decide which to post. This is just a small sample of the ones I took today of the park and catalpa trees and catalpa blossoms and my garden and other sites along the way.

I don’t know why I’m like this tbh. I guess I just don’t like to miss out on beauty.
